The landscape of de Kempen tells stories
Hapert
was once a quiet village in the Kempen which, at the end of the 19th century, was still regarded as a modest, agricultural community.
But times change – and how!
Thanks to the boom in the cigar industry, which flourished in Hapert
and the surrounding villages, the village came to life and grew into a place brimming with activity, conviviality and pride.
Today, Hapert
is a modern and welcoming village where life is good.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings, admire the beautiful chapel and the characteristic windmill, or simply unwind at the Landal park, nestled in the countryside.
In het gezellige centrum vind je supermarkten, de lokale bakker en slager, leuke horecazaken en fijne terrassen.

The woods were once the domain of smugglers, whilst pedlars walked along the sandy paths carrying their wares in a basket on their backs.
For centuries, small-scale farmers toiled on the poor sandy soils, trying to earn a meagre living with blood, sweat and tears.
