The Zaligheden and the associated villages:
Wintersel: (Nowadays Wintelré) the poor in spirit.
Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Eersel: the meek.
Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth.
Duisel: (Now known as Duizel) those who mourn.
Blessed are those who mourn; for they shall be comforted.
Hulsel: those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness; for they shall be filled.
Reusel: the merciful.
Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.
Steensel: the pure in heart.
Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God.
Knegsel: the peacemakers.
Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called children of God.
Zalig, die vervolging lijden om gerechtigheid; want hun behoort het rijk der hemelen.
