Life is a lottery; you might pick winning numbers or suffer a stroke of bad luck – and nobody knows in advance. The Bingo Show is a lottery and theatre show rolled into one. Two for the price of one, then! In this show, Maartje and Kine are more honest, more ruthless and funnier than ever. Their twenties are well and truly behind them; not all the numbers on the bingo card are still open.

Drawing on their own life experiences, dreams of the future and nightmares, they passionately sing of the tragicomic aspects of life: a father who forgets he has Alzheimer’s, the love of your life who is happy with someone else, your long-overdue fantasy of revenge on that primary school bully.   

Maartje and Kine effortlessly guide you from Brahms to beatboxing and from Franz Schubert to Frans Bauer. All the while, they keep more musical balls in the air than the bingo machine can spit out. Expect a madcap postmodern bingo show featuring the most beautiful classical music and zany sing-alongs. And if you know the first thing about music, there are always some coveted prizes to be won! What will it be: a trip to Ibiza or a box of broken light bulbs?  

About Maartje and Kine This duo excels at combining classical and ultra-modern music. Their performances are both humorous and moving. Virtuosic yet delightfully down-to-earth. Together they play more than twenty instruments, including the banjo, violin, piano, accordion, balalaika, singing saw, autoharp and nose flute. The Bingo Show is Maartje and Kine’s sixth theatre production.
