IVN Walk in the Hoge Vijverbos.

Border Walk: The ‘Hoge Vijverbos’ is situated on the border between Hooge Mierde (the Netherlands) and Arendonk (Belgium).

It is managed by Natuurpunt Belgium and has been transformed from a commercial forest into a natural forest.

Before the heathland was cleared, it was managed in the traditional way and used for peat extraction.

Since 1892, this area has been acquired in phases and is now wholly owned by the Flemish Government.

We’ll meet at the Hollanders Hoeve in Reusel. From there, we’ll set off towards the Hoge Vijvers.

Along the way, the IVN guides will tell you about the area, its history and what there is to beleven today.

You do not need to be a member of the IVN to take part.

The walk is free and you don’t need to register
